Joyce Meyer, former pastor, Charismatic Christian author and speaker, Bible teacher, television evangelist and founder of Joyce Meyer Ministries has had successful experiences as well as numerous challenges in her ministry work. In 1980, Joyce began leading a Bible class at a local cafeteria and became active in a newly formed Charismatic church, Life Christian Center. Shortly after Meyers became one of the church's associate pastors and began preaching and teaching weekly women's Bible studies called, "Life in the Word".

Joyce Meyer and her husband have become very wealthy with their many endeavors. Joyce owns several homes, travels in a private jet and has been criticized for her excessive lifestyle. In 1904, Meyer made plans to reduce her salary and to personally use the income from her books sales. She retains royalties from books she sells at retail stores such as Wal-Mart, Amazon.com and Christian bookstores. She donates to her ministry the sales from books sold at conferences, catalogs, website and her television program.
