More than 70 million persons in this country are considered to be baby boomers! Those baby boomers born between 1946 and 1964 are now 45 to 63 years old. The author of the website www.babyboomeradult.com states that oftentimes persons born before 1955 and the persons born between 1955 and 1964 are often considered to be a different type of baby boomer. I believe that the experiences of the "before 1955" group were quite different than boomers in the 1946 to 1963 group. Persons in the "before 1955" age range certainly have a different memory of events. My Grandmother lived with us during this time. One day our country telephone rang and my Mother answered and turned pale after hearing the message. The voice was Franklin Delano Roosevelt calling to express his deepest regrets to my Grandmother. President Roosevelt told Grandmother that three of her sons had been killed in the war...one in the Battle of the Bulge and two at Omaha Beach! The "before 1955" persons remember rationing of sugar,other foods and basics.
